Can you post the beep sequence?

i.e. 1 short 2 long, or 1 high and 1 low.

The beeps are CMOS codes and this should help in determining what is going on.

Give us some more information as well, like brand of computer, OS, hardware configuration.

Also, have you made any hardware changes recently?
What power supply do you have?

Also - clear CMOS. To do that:

First ground yourself by touching a radiator or the computer case.
Then unplug the computer from the wall outlet and open the case.
Remove the little "coin-like" battery on the motherboard.
Move the "clear CMOS" jumper on the motherboard from pins 1&2 to pins 2&3.
Wait 30 minutes.
Replace the jumper to pins 1&2.
Put the battery back.
Close the case and start the computer.
Enter BIOS and choose "Load setup defaults" (or something similar) - save and exit BIOS.

I have moved this thread to " Motherboards, Bios & CPU" support.

the beeps are 5 short ones then a 3 sec pause and 5 more short ones.
the computer is an hp dx 5150 with an amd 3800 x2 windows xp pro
That's a memory error.

Unplug the computer.
Take the RAM stick(s) out - then put them back.
If that doesn't help - clear CMOS.
Hi

I used my computer couple of days before and it was working fine and was shutdown normally. But last night when I started my computer it just started and stops within 2 or 3 seconds after a low beep and no display shows on monitor during this. I tried to start it again and again but the same thing is happened.

Can anyone please tell me what is the actual problem with my computer?
