ok heres what happen. i had a older version of windows xp so i put in my new copy and start to install it but it gets to the part after the u put the key in i did that then it installs some more then says my disk is missing a file and crashes and restarts

so i went bought a new copy of windows xp and put that in well it wont load at all gets to the same part and crashes saying that file is missing

so what i need to do is format the drive and use my new compy of windows xp but i cant seem to format the drive it just gose back the installing windows everytime

is there a way to format my drive before windows loads???

does your pc have a floppy disk drive ? if it does then you can use a windows me boot disk that you can download and save to a floppy disk then will allow you to boot into dos and get the A> prompt from there then you can type in format c: it should format your harddrive. other poster from the TSF forum have recommended a program called Killdisk, go to the below site and obtain this program to clean your harddrive.
