Help with IIS and setting up FTP server?

Hey guys,

My buddy just bought this Canon Printer, scanner, copier, fax multi tool crap... $5000 worth of it. Now the salesman sold it to him but neglected to tell him that he needed his PC guy to set up his computer as a FTP server so the docs it scans can be transfered to the PC!

Now I went to add/remove and installed IIS, went to the appropriate folders that were set up with the install. created a new one for the printer and then set the pernissions to full, gave the IP addy of the Current machine I was on, path, user ID and password. Now for the life of me I can not even go to explorer on a networked machine and type in the IP addy and get to the password screen! Much less get the new crap to work! He has a Linksys cable router on it you think it may be blocking it somehow? On the main machine I can atleast access the user ID and Password screen but still to no avail can not get into it even useing the user ID and pass I put in or "let IIS choose" option.

I know XP has a lot of security but I went over everything that I could think of 100 times so If you know of anything please let me know :D

thanks Charlie
