Sup every1.. im new to the site dropping by to talk about the issues with my computer .. i have a sony computer my model number is pcv-7762 & out of no where 1 day it said i needed to reinstall original windows cd.. to get some files back i think or something..
so i unplug it and iv been useing other comp ever sinse.. i plug it in down the road and its a black screeen turns out my cat knocks it off lil table so the top comes off and all cords pop out of back.. 4 cords not in place-im guessin they all go into the drive(by where u put cd in side-into there) .. so i need to get the right plugs in & then i need to try my cds..

i do have the cds but not the same windows home but its same cd i think? (my buddy has other cd @ his work) will i need to get same 1 in order for this to work?- i do have the windows home cd a 1 from a diff friend but dang.. if its windows pro i got taht to.. but i dont think it is.. anyting will help~bye.

Anything will help guys(sry for writein so much)

for sure i will need it.. i cant use anything eles?..

now what about the cords.. theres 4 cords - i don tknow where they go.. i do have another comp with same cords but diff numbers.. looks easy.. but iunno..

You must have the same disk or a new disk that has never been used for an install. At the end of the re-install, you will have to activate the software. If you use a different disk, the activation codes won't match. It is possible that you could activate by phone and convince Microsoft to give you a new activation code, but I wouldn't count on that happening.

I don't understand your cord problem. It only takes three to hook up a cd drive and all three are very different. As such it should be obvious where each goes. I don't see how a cat could get them out of the drive. Are you talking about cords that plug into the back of the computer and not inside. Those too would all be different

ok im gonna grab the other cd from my friend.. i do have my own key- is that the reg. code?..

Hmm well my cat knocked it off table and the top comes off to where my drives r.. i have a dvd burner.. and i have the newer computers with the built in drives.. sony vaio ..

Copyed from another site-plz help

Iv been lookin at the comp inside and its 2 cords that r red,yellow,black.. they go into the side of the drive..<p6p7?..

the other black 1's every drive has i think? lil black skinny things..but uhhh theres 2 of those and 1 of the other kind..

Dont forget im pretty sure my newer sony has built in vid card and i think drive.. i here the mother board is built in.. but im not sure..

i do have the cd it just will take time.. i wanna have the cords ready to go for when i do get it :)..
