HELP- URGENT-Need an easy answer. Win.98

 Microsoft Windows 98 system

I need someone to help me out, the sooner the better. I can not seem to figure out how to delete the websites from my address bar. I also need to know how to get rid of the Auto Complete that pops up.

I was doing research for an anniversary surprise (I'm not very computer saavy) and now all of this information is visible. I'm worried that my husband will go down the address log to find his usual websites and the whole surprise will be completely ruined! Most of what I researched is right at the top of the log, I've been trying to figure out how to erase it ALL day! He's on the computer everyday; I'll try to find a way to distract him from checking tonight.

Please, help me! Again, I need to know how to permanently delete the websites from the address log at the top of the page, and to erase any Auto Complete functions (the feature that will display all websites that begin with the letter as you start to type an address). Thanks a million!

I appreciate all efforts!

Regards~ P.S.- I did erase the History file.

Welcome to the board,

Have no fear TheTech is here :D....thats pretty good isn't it..

Anyway to clear your history goto Tools > Internet Options > Clear History > Yes , close your browser.

You can also Delete Files, and Cookies that are stored in your Temp Internet folder if you want ...however if you delete cookies and you have the browser set to automatically log you into sites and things you will have to re-enter your user-name and password on your next visit.

To clear your Auto-Complete:

Tools > Internet Options > Content Tab > AutoComplete Button > Clear Forms > Yes | Clear Passwords > Yes

Close and reopen browser.

See the examples below as a visual reference.
