the problem with my computer is that it keeps filing up space, But I dont have anything in my C drive anymore. I don't why it keeps doing that? Can Somebody help me with this situation please.

Is your C:\ drive full? Do you have any sort of program that might make an automatic backup of your system, such as a disk imager? Do you have anything like Google Desktop installed?

my C drive is empty except for my Windows Updates that's all I can't open any programs before that. BUt my Drive keeps saying it's low with space.

What exactly do you mean by this?

Also, if you go into My Computer, right click on the drive and hit Properties, what is listed for used space, free space, and capacity? If you have a lot of free space I wonder if the warning balloon could be malfunctioning?

I only have 345MB space left and the hole thing is blue I hardly have any space at all.

How old is this computer? Do you have a lot of files on there, such as video, mp3's, etc? Do you have any file sharing software on there? Did you have a lot of space and then suddenly you lost it all, or was this gradual?

I ask because I am trying to determine if this is possibly due to a virus/spyware or other unwanted program or if this is just because you have a lot of personal files on the computer.

I don't really know how old my comp is , my brother gave me this computer. So it's not even mine, I dont know about sharing files, and the only drive that hold my MP3 or files is in my D drive but that still has 3.56 MB of space , my C drive is empty and stilll say it's full.

Did your brother erace or format the computer when he gave it to you? It is possible that he could have left files on the computer when he gave it to you if you did not format.

Also, if you go into add/remove programs, are there any that you can delete that you don't need?

This is a hard issue to diagnose because I don't know what sort of files are on the computer and I can't see where the space has gone.

Yeah my Brother format the computer twice before. I got ride of my itunes last nite, and it didnt do anything to help wit the space problem.

You can try this, go to start and then to search. Then search for All Files and Folders. Then under What Size is it go to specify size. Put in At least and then 100000. This will search for all files bigger than 100 MB on your computer. If you find any media files that you don't need you can remove them to free up space.

Also, you might want to try right clicking on the recycle bin and hitting empty. The space is not actually freed when you delete a file until you empty the recycle bin.
