:uhoh: Im needing some help with win xp, I apologize ahead of time for my terrible english/grammer/spelling ect. But will do my best...lol anywho i came home after six weeks vacation and i forgot to turn of while away n for some reason its set to turn off n on w/o doing anything to it.. so its been off and on again prob six x a day & n cont to due while away for 6 weeks ( this may or may not have anything to do with it but hasnt done before this, anyway the issue is that when got bck did all windows updates 3 days ago n also vcl player did update.. its still showing update icon in task tray proceeded to trto do win updates again restarted n still icon is still there (i used auto updates if that helps n the bigger issue for me in the vcl player did update but instead of automatically doing it all it saved update somwhere n didnt dwnld it automatically and now its not wrking at all (VCl player) and cant do update again n cant find saved update to dwnld it' so tried system restore bck 3 days when vcl player was working fine n its been stuck on the "(windows is shutting down bluescreen for over an hr! Dont want to touch it till i actually kno what to do so please help plz..with sugar trying to fix before my bro wakes up n finds what i did to his comp-:facepalm::rofl:-not gonna go well..lol so please any help very much appreciated..Thanks :thanx:

Hold the power button down till the computer shuts off. Wait a 15 seconds and press the power button to turn on. Press the F8 key repeatedly until you get the Advanced Boot Menu. Choose Last Known Good Configuration. and press enter.
As for VLC this update downloads to the, well to the, um......Downloads folder. You can open your browser and go to Tools/Show Downloads and click the VLC update to go to the containing folder to double click the .exe file to start the update.
