Hi all, new to this forum, so please excuse any mistakes... Anyway i'm in need of some advice. I used to have a good pc system with the following:
Mobo= ABIT 3rd Eye
RAM= CORSAIR DDR SDRAM,Capacity 2 x 512 Mb,Clock Frequency 400 MHz,1 Gb (2x512Mb) PC3200
CPU= Athlon 64 3200+ 2000 MHz 512 KiB 1000 MHz 10x 1.35/1.40 V 67 W Socket
GPU=NVIDIA GeForce 6200 AGP8x 512mb DDR2 TV DVI
PSU= X-POWER 450W
So i had this set up for about 8 months or so when i had a fualt on the Mobo. Sent it to Ebuyer and they just returned my money.
So now i left with all the bits but no Mobo.
My question is what Mobo should i buy now? Should i stay AGP or go PCIe??
I'm dont do much except play BF2 online and a few other games and the rest is just normal pc usage. I'm not into Overclocking so really looking for a Mobo thats good fast and handle what i like, without fussying about with it.
Sorry to drag this out- thought the info the better you can help. Many thanks.

Hi,

Most of the Socket 939 motherboards you will find are PCIe, so it really depends on whether you want to upgrade your graphics. You can get a decent PCIe card now that will be better than the GeForce 6200. Here is an example of what you could get.

ASUS A8N-E Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce4 Ultra ATX AMD Motherboard - $85

And...

GIGABYTE GeForce 7300GS 128MB 64-bit GDDR2 PCI Express x16 Video Card - $54

Or...

eVGA GeForce 7600GS 256MB 128-bit GDDR2 PCI Express x16 Video Card - $105

Or...

XFX GeForce 7600GT 256MB 128-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 Video Card - $146

I personally find Abit good too, just dont buy the abit KV8 pro for a socket 754 had nothing but problems, all the boards seem to come with excellent software especially when you get uGuru included. It's an excellent overclocking tool, which also monitors your hardware. As far as graphics cards are concerened i've had alot of ATi cards, but the latest one i had was an nVidia and it flew amazing performance, from the few systems i've built in the last few months i would recommend these:

Motherboards:

Abit KN8 Ultra - http://www.abit-usa.com/products/mb/techspec.php?categories=1&model=285
