(Im new to this forum, thanks for your help and patience with me)
Here is my situation, as specific as possible: I was using yahoo IM on friday night and suddenly got booted, afterwards I can't log in to IM or email. It says my ID and/or password are incorrect. I type in my personal info to try to retrieve the password, in case it was reset, but I can't get in. I deleted all cookies, uninstalled and reinstalled yahoo, I have Webroot Spy Sweeper and Norton Antivirus running constantly and up to date, I had both of them do a scan again, no luck. No response from yahoo. A different person with a yahoo account on this computer has no problem logging in to their account, only me. yahoo won't help me with my alternate email, either. Using my alternate email, people on my friend list tell me they have received odd IM's from "me" with strange links.

Please help!!!

I used hijackthis, and then hijackthis analyzer...

Hello nikedawgg and welcome to TSF,

I'm not seeing anything in this log but incidentals. You can go ahead and fix the following, but these are not causing your problem:

Run a scan in HijackThis. Check each of the following and hit 'Fix checked' (after checking them) if they still exist (make sure not to miss any):

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Search_URL = http://www.earthlink.net/partner/mo...ton/search.html

  1. Click on the Scan your PC button & a 'pop up' window shall appear. * ensure that your pop up blocker doesn't block it
  2. Click On 'Scan Now'
  3. Enter your e-mail address & click 'Scan Now' ...begins downloading Panda's ActiveX controls.- 8MB
  4. Begin the scan by selecting My Computer
    * You needn't remain online while it's doing the scan but you have to re-connect after it has finished to see the report.
  5. If it finds any malware, it will offer you a report. Click on see report
  6. Then click Save report
  7. Post the contents of the report in your next reply along with a new un-analyzed HijackThis log.
* Turn off the real time scanner of any existing antivirus program while performing the online scan
