Hello TSF!

It's been awhile since my last post, and I'm finally about to do some upgrades.
CURRENT SYSTEM:

MSI NF750-G55 Mobo
AMD Phenom II x2 processor @ 3.3GHz
BFG GTX 260 Maxcore 55 Edition
G.Skill DDR3 1600 8GB Dual Channel Memory Kit.
Thermaltake TR2 RX 850w Modular PSU

I just bought the memory on monday, and I'm now looking for a new processor/graphics card setup. I KNOW I want a Phenom II x4 Black Edition 955 (3.2GHz) but I can't decide on the Graphics card. The main reason for doing the Graphics Card at the same time as the processor is that my GTX 260 is starting to whine and whistle during intense games.

It's time to take the load off the Card and get something better. I'm spending $139 on the Processor, and I would like to stay below $300 total. That gives me about $160 for a Graphics card. I am quite fluent in GTX cards, but I have NO IDEA what any of the numbers on HD Radeon cards mean. I would appreciate any help you have to offer.

Check out Performance Comparison Benchmarks @ Hardware Compare for comparison results and benchmarks. Some games have had issues with ATI cards that require a patch, like NFS Shift, personally I would like to get a HD6950 when I get the money or maybe go over to Nvidia again.

The 1600MHz RAM requires OC'ing to achieve that speed with your Mobo.
Your Mobo uses Nvidia chipset so staying with an Nvidia GPU would be recommended.

Thanks for the link. I do know that my RAM takes OC'ing, and it is, indeed OC'ed. As for the nVidia chipset on the Mobo, I honestly didn't think of that, and that's good advice. I'm considering an Open Box GTX 460 1GB from Newegg....
