Hello all, Whenever I click on Help in a word/excel document(2016) I get the message that I am not on-line and need to log on. This is nonsense as I am always on line when I boot up. Is there anything I should do?

Many thanks. Don't quite follow. Opening document or spreadsheet is ok. When I have an opened spreadsheet and I go to "what do you want to do" I typed 'convert to word document' a blank sheet comes up. No longer tell me I am not on lineOther tasks ok. Perhaps I shouldn't be asking that question? When I ask 'convert to a spreadsheet' in a word document. I get a useful set of answers. Hope I am not being a nuisance?

Many thanks. Not quite what I wanted but very useful. Too sophisticated for my needs. It wasn't the mechanics of converting excel to word I wanted but why was I being told that i needed to connect to the Internet when I was already connected.

What I meant in Post #2 was if you have an MS account and were signed into it, perhaps the message wouldn't have come up. Another possibility would be to make IE your default browser as online Help should come up as soon as you ask for it. These are not definits since you were correct in assuming that everything should happen automatically. Did you register MS Office?
