Hey, Guys;

I own a Compaq Presario 700 runing Windows XP. When I left school before break it was working on the school network just fine. After break, however, it would not. I know that the cable and eithernet ports work, because they work fine on my roommate's computer. I've consulted the tech support guys on campus, and they've tried to fix it with little to no success. We've tried using the netshell utility, uninstalling the WAN driver (which worked for a little while), ipconfig /release, ipconfig /renew, and it still won't connect to the internet in my dorm room. Compaq tech support can't help me, because I bought the computer from ubid.com (oops) which isn't an authorized reseller. Does anyone have any ideas? Any help or advice you can provide would be helpful, since I'm starting to loose my mind.
