Ok, I'm going to attempt to explain this to the best of my ability...which when it comes to technical things such as this...it's limited

I'm attempting to hook my PC to my TV so that I can watch movies from my computer on my home television. My video card is a Nvidia GEForce FX 5200. Now, here's how I have it hooked up.

I have a 4-pin S-Video cable running from the output on the video card to an open S-video port on an "Audio/Video/S-video System selector" (its one of those things that allows you to hook up multiple video game systems etc to one tv).

I then connected the system selector to the DVD player (which has AV RCA Input jacks on the back of it), and then connected the DVD player to the television.

The problem is that there is no images or anything showing up on my television. On my AV In or "video channel" it's just a black screen. Yet, in my Nvidia control panel, it's saying that my television is being recognized by the card, but yet there's still no picture. So, I went and did some troubleshooting.

The dvd player and system selector both work perfectly so I know it can't be that. Plus, I know the cables are run right as I'm getting audio output from my computer to my surround sound perfectly. Still, no picture though.

Does anyone know how to fix this? Any help is really appreciated.

I know you said your pc has reconised the tv but is it enabled? Do you have it set up to clone the main monitor or extended to the tv? Im guessing its just setting you got to enable. Also try and plug a different s-video device in to make sure your s-video channel on your selector works.
