I am trying to connect my laptop to my my phone. I tether my phone to the mobile hotspot no problem. I find it in my list of wi-fi options on my laptop. But when I click on the option for my phone, I get the annoying Microsoft redirect, which defaults me to an inactive page even when my wifi says I'm connected. turn off metrobyt-mobile.com/mobile-hotspot-notification.html at DuckDuckGo.

How do I work around this glitch, this redirect? Thank you.

You have to Enable Tethering with your Cell Phone service provider. it is an added cost

It's already enabled. I get the connection without incident. See screenshot attached. If that doesn't answer your requirement, then I'm not sure what you mean.

Log onto your Cell Phone carriers web site and check your plan or give them a call. The Cell Provider has to Enable Tethering in your plan, if it is not already. Many require an extra charge to Enable it.

I did just that a little bit ago. And apparently my plan refreshes at midnight on the 4th automatically. I paid my plan 2 days ago but it didn't refresh. So I phoned them, and yes, as you say, they refreshed my plan and connection resumed. Sorry for the confusion. And thank you very much for your persistence. Wonderful.
