Im using an asus MB that has an audio chip with 3 jacks one speaker one mic and one Im not sure about looks like ((( )))....built in...and the speakers work but not my labtec desk mic, the volume control thing on microphone options has balance control greyed out like it doesnt even recognise that i have a mic.


dunno if thats enoughinfo but if ya can help itwould be appreciated

oh yeah im on winXP and under my controlpanel it says i have C-media wave device

well now im at work so i cant test anything....but I figured out the chipset for my asus P4b533 is C-media CMI8738....so I'll just try downloading the most recent drivers(duh!! that shoulda been the first thing i did.) hopefully that works if anyone has anyother ideas please lemme know

thanks for moving this to the right forum :p I thopught it may have been XP related at first...but soon after realized i had it in teh wrong forum
