Hey, heres what happened:
I had a document which I was working on, saved it on my USB.
However, the same document was on my computer (it was an older version) and I accidentally copied the older version on the USB and replaced the new version.
This happened last night, my computer has been off since.
I have windows XP, and Office 2000
can this be recovered?
it was very important so pls help!

Hi MaverickGosse, welcome to TSF...

hate to be the bearer of bad news but it's unlikely you'll be able to get back the file as it has been overwritten. But feel free to try some recovery programs...I can recommend Runtime's GetDataBack as it can be used on USB devices and it has worked for me in the past though the files were simply deleted in my case and not overwritten.

Hope that helps :)
