help i got a problem with my computer when i turn on the computer My Documents pops up and when u exit the the My Documents the only thing that shows up is the background and there is nothing else left i cant do anything there is no desktop icon or a task bar or the start button there is absolutly nothing i can do i cant even right click this problem started today when i restarted my computer i need help fast and im useing my Friends computer right now to post up a new thread because i cant do anything on my computer

hmmm.......try performing a chkdsk /r on your computer and see if that helps fix the problem. what you need to do is to bootup the computer to your windows xp cd.

first though you will need to go into the bios and change the first boot device to cdrom, save settings and then exit the bios. then put your windows xp cd in the cdrom and the computer should boot to it. when the computer gets to the main console where it ask you if you want to install or repair windows xp, choose repair.

the computer will ask you for an admin password but simply hit enter if you dont got none to skip the process. then on C: type in "chkdsk /r" without the "" and make sure there is a space between chkdsk and /r. this should take a while and after this is finish, reboot the computer and boot into windows normally.

also scan your computer with your spyware and anti-virus utilities. good luck
