Hi,

I have a HP laptop, dv6000. I replaced my old HD(which is not working) with a new one. My idea was to run the recovery disks after installing the new hard drive.

When I restart my Laptop it says "Hard Disk not found, System recovery cannot proceed".


Can you please help?

were you pushing a key to start the system recovery? or did you put the recovery disc in and tell the laptop to boot from that disc?

if you tried pushing F11 to start the recovery, then you will get that message since this method runs the recovery from a partition on the hard drive, and since the drive was replaced, that partition is not there.
