Re: Help!

Hello. Welcome to TSF.

Your graphics card (the 7200) is a very low end card from a series that is several years old. It is highly unlikely that any of the more recent games will run on your computer I'm afraid to say.

Re: Help!

I can do. But before I do I'll need to know a couple of other things.

Firstly, what speed is your CPU at? You can check via Start -> Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Computer Management (or Vista equivalent) -> Device Manager -> "click the little + next to "proccessors"

Secondly, what PSU (Power Supply Unit) are you using? To find this out you'll have to open up your case and check inside, there should be a large rectangular box at the top or bottom of the case. It will have a sticker on it, post the information on the sticker.

Upgrading my computer, in perticular the graphics card

hey i've been using my current system for 2 years now and its becoming abit out dated i'm lookin to upgrade my pc rather than buy new.

Current Specification

CPU: E2140 Intel Pentium Dual Core
RAM: 1GB DDR2, upgraded to 2GB about a year ago.
Hard Drive: 160GB, 1 Terrabyte External.
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce 7200 - outdated and would really like a new one.
Monitor: HP 24" w2409h

Looking to use it for gaming on standard games such as cod4, cod mw2, empire total war, Rome Total War.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated, a friend recommended:

XFX GeForce 9800GT 550Mhz 512MB PCI-Express 2.0 DVI

:grin::tongue::grin:

If I know what kind of expansion slots you have, I can recommend something good that's cheap.

Can you take a picture of your motherboard's expansion slots? The slots can be Black, Brown, White, Orange, Blue, or Green.

There's usually 4 in premade machines. 6 or 8 in custom built machines.

Take a photo and attach it to a reply and I'll see what I can find for you.

Please don't mistake them for memory ^.^ -You can tell the different because there are panels next to the slots that lead out into the open of the world.

Re: Upgrading my computer, in perticular the graphics card

Hello BiologicalLee,
download CPUz from my sig and open it, choose Mainboard tab and take a screenshot of it and paste it here
if you want to get a new video card, you need a new Power Supply, a quality one, like the Corsair 650 W, so you need a 100 to 150$ for the card and you need 80 to 120$ for the PSU
so that's a total of 180 to 270$
