I'd start by updating the wireless drivers on the laptop.
Help!!!, computer dropping my wireless
Hi, I'm using HP tablet laptop running windows vista. Over the past year, and after several reboots, my laptop drops the wireless connection when I stream video. Whether I'm streaming videos from youtube or a news site, it does not matter. I have connected the modem directly to my laptop and I do not have this problem, and other people sharing the wireless router do not have this problem. I'm using a WRT54GS V7 router. Any help will be appreciated, thanks in advance

I actually did that in the device manager, and it said driver is up-to-date

It's advisable to download the latest driver from the manufacturer's site and then manually install the latest driver in Device Manager.

I went to the manufacturers site and they are upto date ....this problem is getting annoying
Perhaps locate the new firmware for your router and manually download and install it as well.
I'd reset the router to factory defaults and reconfigure after updating the firmware as well.
