When i am playing a game or browsing the internet, my headphones will randomly mute itself. So i plug it into a different usb slot, it works for about 5 minutes then mutes again. this happens to every headphone I try.
I have tried everything and its really annoying.

What is the make and model number of the headset?

Inside the Sound Properties found in the bottom right, select the last tab of Communication. Make sure the radio button of Do Nothing is selected.

The computer no longer works. So when I receive my new one I will check to see if this problem happens with my headset.

Ok the problem is back on my new computer when windows did an update.

If the issue is happening on a brand new machine, then I would say its an issue with the headset. Is it within its warranty period?
