Hello nice people from here,

a friend of mine asked me to recover some data from his old laptop hdd. The Problem is with usb connection it shows at my friends laptop 3 partitions but one didnt show anything or even show how big it is. So i thinked no problem i put these HDD in my pc and let us Sata connection. But here is the problem when i install it and start my PC comes to booting windows but there it stucks (Little info it already is starting booting windows but didnt finish and when i explicit choose the other HDD to boot it stuck at try to start recovery offer a disk error).

When i put it with usb 3.0 at my pc after some time it shows the first partition (the one with 99mb) then the recovery partiton but the main partiton is "empty". So is there a way to boot my pc with it ?

Next thing i tried Hot plug out it somehow works that it sometimes find my extern HDD and find the the Broken HDD and can install the drivers for it but then nothing happens.

specs: OS: Windows 7 Home Premium CPU: I5-4670K Ram: 8gb ddr3 Grafik: AMD 7970 or 7990 SSD: Samsung 250 gb HDD: 1 TB Seagate

The HDD has issues. The main partition has probably some bad sectors and the data may be corrupted.
You would not be able to boot from this HDD even if it was healthy. When Windows installs, it takes a snapshot of the motherboard, chipset and hardware and loads drivers specific to that hardware. If you remove the HDD and put it into a different computer with different hardware, the computer will try and boot but it will BSOD.
Connect the drive via your USB 3.0. Run Data recovery software on it to recover the lost partition, like the free partition find and mount, or TestDisk program, I have had the best luck with GetDataBack, or Easeus Recovery. You will need another drive of the same size or larger of the partition you are trying to recover to restore the files to.

There may be other issues with other drives on your computer. How many separate HDD's do you have installed? If a desktop, take the side off and look. While there, look at the label for the Power Supply Unit. What is the Make, Model# and Wattage? If you have an under powered PSU, (ie) 500W or below, it may not be enough to power all of your drives.

Maybe what i have to clearify my pc can handle all 3 HDD the problem seems that through some corrupted datas or areas on the HDD the pc struggle to fully read the HDD. It shows all 3 Partitions but only 2 (sometimes) have a storage capazity the 3 one always is shown only as an Partition but always without a capazity. That issue goes with directly install it through hot plug or through USB 3.0 connection. ATM i think the HDD is just technical broken.

If you can't access a partition then that drive has bad sectors and the drive is failing. You can test this theory by removing the physical HDD from the computer and attaching it to another computer via a USB Adapter, or put it into a USB Dock or Enclosure. From there, you can run Short and Long HDD Diagnostic Programs, depending on the manufacturer, each one has their own. If either test fails, that HDD needs to be replaced.

Seagate has bought out the Samsung HDD division.
If you attach the drive as a secondary HDD, you can run the Seatools for Windows program on it. Run the Short and Long Diagnostic tests. If either test fails, the HDD needs to be replaced.
