Hi All,

I'm upgrading a HDD in a laptop to a SSD but hitting a problem.
I'm using EaseUS ToDo free and the clone tool within that.

The issue is that the sector sizes are different so it can't continue. This is the message:

"the sector size of destination disk and source disk is inconsistent"

Is there any other tool that will allow me to clone and ignore the issue above?

Thanks in advance

Hi,

Here is an explanation of why you probably can't make that work.

For these hard drives, It is not possible to copy one to another if logical sector size of target drive differs from logical sector size of source drive. That is because data integrity usually cannot be ensured between different logical sector drives.

Many users seem to have had more success with Macrium Reflect Free to make a full disk backup image instead of cloning.

That way, you will have a full backup and using this method, sector size won't matter.
