Hello - This is my first post and I am not sure what is happening. I have some PDF files stored in a directory on my server and when I try to open them in Internet Explorer, it brings up a box asking to open or save the file. I also notice the file has been changed to .tar instead of pdf. When I try to open it, it opens WINZIP and cannot open the file. If I execute the file on the server with WS-FTP, it opens adobe acrobat fine and works.

It's almost like I have some kind of virus not letting Internet Explorer open it. Some of these PDF's have been there a long time and I'm pretty sure they worked fine a few month's ago. I am running IE7. Any ideas? Here is a link to one of the PDF's below - bper1

when i go to the link The file is a .rar file and needs winrar to open it
Hi Brian - I just clicked on the link again and it is named test.tar in the box that comes up to open it for me. There is something weird going on here. It definately is a pdf file, because I opened it just before transferring it to the server with Adobe Acrobat. The file I moved and the file I ended up with on the server were the same size in bytes. I can execute it on the server with WS-FTP and it opens up by starting Adobe Acrobat on my computer. I have the pluggin installed on IE to open any PDF files with Acrobat and have it also as a stand alone program - bper1

One final note is that it seems to open fine as a pdf in Firefox, but not in I/E 7. It also works fine if I execute it from the server using WS-FTP. Again, here is a link to one of the pdf's and still looking for an answer on this one - bper
