I have connected my router to PC via USB cable, since Windows tells me the LAN cable is not plugged in for whatever reason. I would like to go back to LAN tbh but have no idea how to fix it
Now, with USB i have a new pehnomena (when LAN still worked i never had this issue)
Frequently (like, sometimes within minutes or so) the connectivity goes limited, and internet drops.
I have found that i can windows-repair the LAN2 adapter by reseting it, the faster method i use is to just deactivate/activate the adapter.
System runs Vista and router is FritzBox 3170 (via USB as mentioned).
The router keeps DSL connection, just the adapter in PC drops.
All drivers are up to date as far as i can tell, at least the router's are for sure.
I have now set a fixed IP for the PC in TCP/IPv4 which doesn't seem to help.
I have deactivated the onboard-LAN since i had the impression it is faulty.
Internet load might be making it worse but i can't say for sure.
What other info would be helpful to solve this issue ?
