After update bios still not detect SATA Maxtor

I using computer with mainboard asus p4p800 chipset 865. VGA ATI, a hard disk setup winXP sp1 and one is SATA maxtor 80Gb.
When I runing my computer normal then happen not detect SATA maxtor. I try update bios with revesion p4p81009 and 1010 lastest but this phenomenon happen yet. I try run with Intel mainboard chipset 865 then no problem.
Please tell me this problem.
My PC configuration:
CPU p4 2.8Gh, Mainboard ASUS P4P800 non deluxe, bios v1080,1Gh DDR Ram, 40GB Seagate Baracuda Hard disk for system, SATA Maxtor 80Gb, VGA ATI.

When you enter BIOS setup, is your hard drive listed at all?

Which port do you have the drive's SATA data cable attched to? Make sure it's on SATA1 if this is your only SATA drive.

Ensure that the data cable and the power cable are securely attached.

Could you please list all of your hard drives, and where they're attached? It sounds as though you have Windows loaded onto another drive, so we need all hard drive information to help you figure this out.
