Hey guys
Just back from Safari and I can view all my images on the P-4000, all RAW taken with 30D and 350D. I also have some old jpg's in albums which I can view aswell.
However when I connect the P-4000 to the PC and open the images I get the following effect on all my pics!
http://www.iesphotography.co.uk/testing123.jpg
I have even copied the files from the drive to the PC and opened from the PC hard drive and the effect is still there. I have yet to try on another PC as I have got access to one.
Very weird, I called Epson and as my pics look OK on the viewer then they say its a PC problem, but what can have changed in my PC during the 3 weeks its been unplugged while I have been away as I've never had this problem before!! Is it something to do with USB or windows? effect happens in CS2 and in RAWshooter, all programs have latest RAW versions ie 3.6 for CS2.
I just took some jpeg pics with the 30D and viewed them on the 5-in-1 card viewer on the PC and they are fine. I then copied them onto the P-4000 and viewed and they come out looking like the pic I posted when viewed on the PC but viewed fine on the P-4000. Will try my work PC as I can view jpg's there but not RAW. The Epson guy said a card reader doesn't interact with windows the same way as a P-4000, something about mapping and stuff I didn't understand. I have the feeling my PC has gone a bit screwed reading the drive, well I hope so cos I need these images off one way or another.
******update*****
just tried viewing the jpgs on the work PC and they are fine!! So it must be something to do with how my PC is interacting with the driver. not sure what to do now as its plug and play. The only thing I can think of is its something to do with the windows updates that took place when I booted up the PC. fingers crossed it doesn't end up in a windows re-install!!
Just to note all other images (jpg and RAW) on my PC I have saved are viewed OK on my home PC.
Hope someone can help
