i have the same problem, even if i had installed the driver and the driver asks to connect the usb/printer.. whenever i connect the printer, the hardware wizard pops up.. (while the driver installer is still loading) the worse thing is that even after following the Hardware wizard step, it tells me that it's installed since there is no driver/software on the system.. but my cd is in.. TT

Hello and Welcome to TSF,

When installing driver and software and the installation asks you to connect the USB cable then you need to wait for it to install the driver, and yes the hardware wizard pops up but leave it alone theres no need to do anything here just wait for it to finish installing driver.

thank you.. but you know what? when the driver is running and the wizard pops up, the driver stops running.. when i click next on the wizard, that's the time that the driver loads again, then the wizard pops up the second time to check for software, the i click next again, it tells me then that the hardware/printer is not installed since there is no driver found... then the USB symbol at the icon bar disappears like the printer is alread turned off or removed..

when i turn on the printer, the wizards pops up again, but still not installed..

HP DESKJET D2560... and by the way, i dont know if this also adds to the problem, the X button on the printer is blinking..but it turns off when i press that button though.. i dont know, maybe it's nonsense

Turn off printer and disconnect USB cable to computer and the power cord also.
Uninstall driver and software via add/remove in control panel.
restart computer
Check in C:/drive and program file folder to make sure folders are gone.

In that order.

Installation of printer:

Plug in printer - Do not connect USB cable yet.
Install driver and software, plus software 1 and 3 updates.
Connect USB cable when told to by installation.
After installation finishes, Restart computer.
