Welcome to TSF:

Your hard drive temps are on the high threshold of tolerable / I suspect your other components must be running hotter than needed also ?? :4-thatsba

I urgently advise you install some additional 80mm case fans (120mm are better if you have room they are big) You need more air blowing in and two fans blowing air out
I would try running with the side off the case / and put a regular house 12inch diameter house fan blowing into it / if you have the room around the case and your wife wont kill ya !! LOL

here is a drive cooler I am running that I am in love with / these keep my 15,000 RPM drives cool as a cucumber at 31 degrees C

Bruiser:

The hardcano hard drive cooler mounts the hard drive in a drive caddy type mounting system and then it slides into a 5.25 inch drive bay

the temps you are seeing now are a drastic improvement / your componets will last alot longer at 30C then they will at 48C !!

Ebackus has posted normal readings of 38C / I personally dont like over 40C and like low 30's much better / most hard drives I think have heat protection set for 55C if I recall correctly / that the point they will do an auto shutdown
