Hopefully, someone can help me out with a quesion I have. A buddy of mine just built me a computer out of the abundance of spare parts he has lying around. In it, he put a 14Gb hard drive. He gave it to me with basically just the OS (Windows Me) installed. I have installed a few programs and downloaded a few things, and already I have 10Gb of stuff! It just doesnt seem right to me. Is is possible that my friend left a bunch of stuff on the hard drive, and now I am working on top of it? Is there a way I can find out? And if so, how can I get rid of all the extra stuff that is filling up my HUGE 14Gb hard drive?
Hopefully someone can fill me in on what might be going on.
Thanks.

I had the same problem. I got a 120 gig harddrive but only 111 gigs where available. Then i found out that only 111 gigs where for the actual usage. Also you might want to check how much space is reserved for your recycling bin. Same thing with my 30 gig harddrive. Only 28 gigs available.
