Hard Drive says unformatted

I got a 1tb WD My Passport for Christmas. And it was working fine, until the other day. When it started saying, "You need to format the disk in drive I: before you can use it."
Ive used TestDisk, and that shows my files. But it doesn't fix the prolem!Can anyone help me?

Im running Windows 7 32bit.

At the point data recovery is the best action. Once your data is backed up/recovered you can run the WD drive diagnostics and see if the drive is usable or if it needs to be replaced.
