Hard Drive Led

I installed a new TDK burner today and now my hard drive led keeps on blinking.

The last time I had this happen was about five years ago and I'll be damned if I can remember how and if I got rid of it.

I tried disabling all the autoplay stuff in Tweakui but that wasn't it.

Anyone got a clue.....

Is it IDE? You might want to make sure the burners set as master and not CS or slave, also sometimes burners don't like sharing an IDE channel with anything. :) Does the burner work, just the hard drive led has gone postal?

OK here's the deal...:D

I took out my TDK 12x VeloCD and replaced it with a TDK 32X VeloCD.

Brand new I just had to buy it for $109.00

I had a $50.00 gift certificate that was given to me.

It had a $50.00 rebate. So if ya do the math you know why I just had to buy it.

Anyway back to business at hand...:D

It's set as master all alone on IDE2, the hard drive led blinks once every second.

It didn't do this with the other burner so it is definately got something to do with this one.

I think I'll go see if there is a firmware update on this model...:upset:

Speedo,

Had the same problem about 3 weeks ago with a HP CD-RW 8X.

After trying everything else I finally ran a diag. program on it which said the drive was damaged.

Hope yours is something different.

And what program would that be Bud.....:D
Speedo,

I can't remember if it was on the HP CD or on the Primo (Prassi) CD.

I'll have to look for the Primo Plus CD (its in my son's room so ?).
As for the HP CD it met the same fate as the drive - I stomped them into small enough peices for the vacum to pick up.

LORD HELP ME BUT I DO HATE THAT COMPANY!!!!!!!

:D Might I recommend some anger management classes, quick.

No joke here, computer abuse is reaching levels I couldn't imagine, today one of the users in the engineering department got so pissed with his computer that he beat his mouse and keyboard into pieces by repeatedly throwing them into wall of demo area, which is solid concrete, if I hadn't seen the end of the tantrum you would have never been able to convince me it could happen.

The problem, his smart-card was deactivated for excessive wrong login attempts. (Meatware Error)
The Techisin,

May I call isin sir?

I never STOMP anything until know for sure that its already dead (you can never, if their still alive that might bite you or worse).

Besides it gave me very relaxed and tranquil feel after stomping it - actually I guess feeling came after they defifulated me at the hospital.

BTW isin :D :D :D :D lighten up man smell the Post Oak :D :D :D .

Myself, I'm just here for the finger food during "Happy Hour"
