Hi,
I have recently replaced a broken hard drive in my desktop PC
with a: (link) ST3300820SCE DB35 Series™ 7200.3 SATA 3Gb/s 300-GB Hard Drive | Seagate



But now when i turn my PC on i just get a black screen.
could anybody tell me what i have done wrong or what i would need to do to
get it running again? thanks.


If you need any additional info please post and ill try my best.

u instal an op sys on the new one?try reset cmos .take out the cmos battrey for 1-2 minute.when u put it again at your sistem restart it will say u have to loads default settings or to setup yourself.select to load default settings .anda after that enter bios and setup boot priorities.

if you disconnect the hard drive do you see the post screens

what are you running
video card
cpu
m/board
ram
power supply
brand
model
wattage

check the listings in the bios for voltages and temperatures and post them

Have i broke my computer? i disconnected the hard drive and it still shows a blank screen. The monitor picks up a signal but goes into standby mode with a orange and green flashing light. :4-dontkno

eMachine E4214 Specs

Intel Celeron D/360 3.46GHz Processor

- 1GB DDR2 Memory

- 120GB SATA II Hard Drive (removed)
replaced with - DB35.3 Series™ SATA 300-GB Hard Drive

- Intel Shared Graphics (integrated)



Has no operating system at the moment i cant put one on because of this problem.
