Hi i have a question. I am playing on my 980 ti almost on maxed details in GTA V. In the same place ( AREA ) regular i have 40-50 fps no matter what. Yesterday it drop to 29 fps on the same place ,and this was single occurance, and this is not reproducable.Is this something with my card or its a game? Is this something with my card if only once it drop to 29 fps , even if normally i have there 40-50 fps?

So its a hardware issue or game? Its not reproducable and happened once i dont know why. Normally i have there 40-50 fps no matter what. Yesterday it drop for a second to 29 fps.

My card is Strix 980 Ti and 4790k. And temps are fine. My disk is clean,only installed GPUZ and FRAPS. Disk is SSD Samsung Evo 250 250 GB

I don't see why you are so worried or investigating an issue that has only happened once. If it continues to happen, then it would be time to look further into it.

Yes after 5 hours of play the same stutter lag spike back in the same location in game. Drop from 38 fps to 0 fps then to 29fps and back again to 38 fps for a long time. Is this related to hardware or game?

( i monitored during that spike temps ,gpu load and gpu clock, and they are fine normal )

It happens very rarely. Its fine 5 hours , then for a second i have lag spike to 0 fps and back again to 38 fps for a long time.

Its so rarely i can play fine for hours without spike. Then after 6 hours it can drop to 0 fps for a second and back again to 38 fps and again for long time is fine. Its hard to reproduce.

( and tested exact the same place in game, on other areas is fine )

Same place = game issue.

Turn off the fps counter, it might allow the game to run faster and it'll be less distracting during play.

My system is clean. INstalled 2 games ,fraps and gpuz , nothing else.

Maybe once for 3 hours i get random lag stutter for a second . Fps goes for example from 60 fps to 30 fps and then back again to 60 fps ( during that drop i notice too gpu load drop ). It happens very rarely.
Once for maybe 3 hours. Card is Asus Strix 980 Ti ( normal temps ) and 4790k ( good temps ).


Is this game issue or hardware? Its very hard to reproduce because it can be fine 5 hours, or sometimes can drop after 1 hour. Its on totally random places in game, when i am driving or running.

Game issue - traveling at speed gives less relative time to load new data as you cross out of regions that you already have data loaded for. Some data needs to be dumped to load new data.

You might find that it improves if you change the ingame options to require less data/details. The higher the settings are, the more likely you will run into these problems.

Yes, games are less than perfect - how close to 100% good changes after each game update.

Lower your expectations, no OS is perfect, hardware is only as good as the driver used, games are as good as the last patch,...

If it's not an issue in most other games, then yes it's a game specific issue, or could be a driver issue.
