Aaaaghh! Ok I'm runnin win xp, got a gig and a half of ram, an Asus p4p800-vm motherboard, and an ATI Radeon x1600 pro 512mb video card. The durn thing wont work right! I got a game called Darkstar One and it looked real bad, purple and pink stripes and dots everywhere. So I got an older, less graphics intensive game to test (Neverwinter Nights Diamond) and the same thing happens. I have completely uninstalled and reinstalled, downloaded the newest drivers, nothing works. Please help.

Hi,
Have you adjusted the BIOS, to make the Radeon the default display? Default would be the integrated graphics this board has.
Do you have drivers for both the Radeon and the onboard Intel graphics installed, this would cause problems?

hey, thanks.
I do have the latest drivers for everything.
So, how do I set the graphics card to default? I know how to get into bios, but after that...
Sorry if I seem kinda slow...

Hi,
The manual will tell you how to move about and change the BIOS video settings....download from here....
http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?SLanguage=en-us

(Sometimes you just have to choose which display to boot with, like onboard video, agp or pci.)

If you have drivers installed for both the x1600 and the onboard Intel Extreme Graphics, you must uninstall both from add/remove programs.
Restart and keep pressing F8 until you get the options of starting in safe Mode etc............choose to start in VGA Mode.
When it restarts, install your x1600 drivers and restart again.
