Help Please W/Graphics Upgrade

I have a couple questions but first want to say,"hi, my name is lrsndesign and i'm an *********"... wait wrong forum  Anyway, what a great forum and thank you for being helpful as it's sometimes hard to get straight answers from people without them trying to sell you somethin...

Oh,,, Yea,,, The questions.... First is maybe an easy one in that is it possible to upgrade a video card on a laptop computer? Or, what should i set my visual settings to, with regards to the amount of virtual memory., I have 2gb ram on an HP Pavilion DV6000, Intel Dual core 1.83 mg?

And the other is; I have a relatively new HP Slimline model s7727c and just want to make sure i could upgrade as i just purchased a second one cause i like the size but as i'm finding out it has it's drawbacks. Theres no open space in it, (I think), but i have an option, (once again, i think), to remove the modem, as it's not used. The problem is, it's only a PCI slot and there is'nt many options for an upgrade as it seems PCI E is most popular. It already comes with a GeForce 6150LE and want to make sure whatever i put in would be an upgrade, relatively substantial... Any suggestions on an upgrade of a card to run Directx 9.0 or lower? To make matters worse it has to be low profile :sigh: Thank you again!!!

Thanks for the reply!!!

That link to the card you gave me looks like a PCI E type sorta doesnt it?

Luckely for me when i remove the modem as thats the only slot it already has the bracket for the modem. I assume i could just re-use that correct?

Lastly, It's a stupid question but it's better than what factory installed correct? (GeForce 6150LE)

upon closer examination it looks like a backwards pci express slot. it might not be upgradeable
If thats the case, i think i'm gonna cancel the order for a second one of those computers. It's just that it's almost impossible to pass up for $350. All i do is replace the ram for another $50 to 2 gigs and it's a good computer except for some of the new games. If i could upgrade to a better card then the computer would be really half decent...
