Hello,
I'm not sure if I have a graphics hardware or software problem, but my Acer 4730z laptop screen went from normal to fuzzy and swirled colors yesterday...the startup screen (normally black) was lime green and I can't view much without serious strain. I need help figuring out what I'm dealing with.
Not sure how to change my listing for OS in my profile but I am running Vista Home edition on this Acer.
Thanks

Things to try:
(a)Have you tried a System Restore?
(b)Check in Device Manager to see if your display driver has anything flagged (yellow).
(c)See if there is a more current display driver from your graphic card supplier and if so update it.

Thank you for the suggestions.
I looked at the Device Manager and saw no yellow flags, and ran a check for an update. The response was that I was current. I did disable the driver and the situation did not improve. Then I uninstalled it and am currently using Windows VGA, with the same fuzzy and multi-colored result. That makes me think it's a hardware issue, but I'm just not sure.
I was saving System Restore as a last resort, as I have a ton of material to move before I do that.

My dad has the same problem with his Sony Vaio which is only a couple years old. The problem it the wire running from the motherboard to the screen went bad. Now because this isn't a desktop you can't just go out and buy a new cable. Laptops have special wires. To confirm if this is the problem see if you can hook up and extra monitor to your laptop.
