I have an Asus f8 laptop as seen here
http://www.laptopsdirect.co.uk/Asus_F8_Laptops/prod.asp

I opened up Windows Movie maker and it said I did not have a graphics card good enough for using it for compression

I checked the card which said standard card however its supposed to be NVidia

I took this to a shop beforehand some weeks as my hard drive went to have Vista installed etc.

SO I am wondering if the graphics card has been changed?

Its funny that I have a cheap laptop and I can open Windows Move maker up OK.

IF it has been changed what could I do about this?
Thanks

You may not have the drivers installed.
This page
http://www.asus.com/products.aspx?l1=5&l2=26&l3=501&l4=0&model=2371&modelmenu=2
says you have an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3470 (if you have the model on the URL you pasted: aka the F8Vr).

I was baffled when I went to the Asus site and they didn't have any drivers for your laptop! (That's probably the same problem the people who installed Vista for you had!)

Fortunately I did a bit of sleuthing and it turns out the F6V has a similar graphics chip:
http://sg.asus.com/products.aspx?l1=5&l2=75&l3=631&l4=0&model=2422&modelmenu=2
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3470, External

Go to http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?SLanguage=en-uk
Under product pick notebook
Under series pick F6
Under model pick F6V
Then click search. You'll get a pop-up asking for your OS (Vista 32 or 64-bit).
Then click on the + next to VGA and pick the ATI driver (kind of big at 116MB).

Hopefully this will work.

P.S: If you check out the above steps and pick F8Vr instead of F6, you'll see that Asus, indeed, has no drivers for the F8Vr! If by the time you read this post they updated their site and put drivers for the F8Vr, grab those instead (and update all the other drivers - even non-graphics one - if you have a minute)

Ugh I just rechecked the Asus site under F6V now (and again for my motherboard, A7N8X-E) and all the downloads are gone! 0 hits! I think they're having server issues or something. Just check back at a later time. Hopefully F8Vr will have their downloads up again.

I found update driver in device manager for the graphics card so I clicked update but it said driver is updated.

Oops! I found out what I did wrong! When I searched the Asus site, I put en-uk (because I thought you were from the UK, based on the original link you posted), but if you put en-us, all the drivers are there!
So yeah, go here
http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?SLanguage=en-us
Under product pick notebook
Under series pick F8
Under model pick F8Vr
Then click search. You'll get a pop-up asking for your OS (Vista 32 or 64-bit).
Then click on the + next to VGA and pick the ATI driver (kind of big at 116MB).

If you have a minute, update all the drivers you can.

Edit: I just rechecked. They only have to seem drivers for 32-bit Vista mostly.
