Hey Guys,

Hoping that someone can help me!

I have windows 7... running trend micro virus scanner.

When i open up the internet i can access every single web page except for google.

I have tried pinging google, no luck, tried many different spywares, nothing. Have tried to update IE still not luck. Have removed firewalls, still nothing. Have tried opening in safari, google still doesnt load. I have even added google as a trusted site and it still wont load.

Life without google is hard... does anyone have any suggestions?

cheers

JJ

Hi, turn your router off at the mains then turn off your computer at the mains. Now turn the router back on and wait until all lead lights populate. Once this has happened turn your computer back on. This is called power cycle the system.

To be sure you can also go to start ,all programs, accessories and right click on command prompt select "run as administrator" at the prompt type:-

ipconfig/flushdns (press enter)

- Open a command prompt as an admin again and type tracert google.com. Right click anywhere in the window and Select All, then CTRL+C to copy the results. Paste that info into a new post.
- With the command prompt window still open, type netsh winsock reset. Restart your computer and try Google again.
- If still no luck, I would download and run a full scan with Malwarebytes just to rule out anything malicious in your registry or on your computer.

Hi, good advice, one area that has not been considered is "toolbars" do you have the Google toolbar or the Yahoo toolbar if so delete them. Make the Tracert easier at the prompt type:-

tracert google.com > c:\find.txt & start notepad c:\find.txt (press enter)

The output will open in notepad, paste it here.

Run the Winsock reset again this way: Click Start button, go to Accessories, then Right click on Command Prompt and choose Run as Administrator. Then type netsh winsock reset
