Windows XP Pro SP3
Hey, I'm having a problem with my computer. It seems that when i first log on and open my Internet browser (IE), i get one window with my homepage, and another window often pops up that brings me to some bogus news website. On top of that, all of my Google search results redirect me to other sites, often to buy software.
What do you suggest i do first? HiJackThis logs? ComboFix Logs? Any information that you need about my system setup please ask and thy shall receive. Thanks in advance for the help.
I might also add on a separate note that i have a 'ping.exe' process in my process explorer that was sucking 300k+ memory and a constant 50% CPU capacity. My process explorer is telling me that the ping.exe is located in c:\windows\system32, which sounds correct.
