I have been using the chrome browser for a couple of years and have regularly upgraded when new versions came along with no problems until today.

My OS is WIN 7 ultimate.

When chrome tried to update I got a message saying that the "Update server not available. (error 3)"

I took one of the suggested approaches and uninstalled google. I cleaned out all traces of chrome from my computer before downloading it again. This time I was given a message that the installation had crashed.

I got the same result when I downloaded the alternate installer.

What can I do to fix this problem and successfully install the latest version of Chrome?

Thanks for any assistance you can offer me towards this end.
