I could go on forever...
Are you after any genre in particular (FPS, RTS, RPG)?
Are you looking for this for Mulitplayer or Online gaming or are you happy with single player ones?

Command & Conquer: Generals and Warcraft 3 are both very good strategy games. They've been around for ages but a lot of people still play them.
If you are after more recent ones though, you may want to wait for C&C 3 or even Supreme Commander, if you've got a decent PC.

Supreme Commander will (please Gods) be an excellent strategy game. I played Total Annihilation to death, so seeing Supreme Commander come from TA's ashes will be a delight.

Just to put a different spin on my reply, take a peek at Gamerankings.com to find some of the hotter games out there today. The percentages given on games are based on the total average of review scores from several review websites, so it's a great place to see how things are weighed on a more global scale.

thers also hidden and dangerous (ww2 3rd person shooter) for free now
it's a great realistic military simulation, very fun with great strategy. though the AI leaves a lot to be desired. planning missions is great fun, especially with the vehicle and mounted weapon element. though i find that firing mounted weapons from a jeep is not too effective. i think vehicles are just better for fast transport.

I'm personally a fan of Enemy Territory: Quake Wars. Some people say it's an acquired taste... and I can see where they're coming from. The game's an FPS with 5 very unique classes on each of 2 factions (being the GDF, and the strogg). It relies heavily on teamwork, and objectives (it plays like "Assault" in Unreal Tournament). Your weapon unlocks reset at the end of every campaign (a campaign has 3 maps), so nobody really has a 1-up on anyone from the get-go.

I would personally recommend it.

Can someone provide me with some information about Assassin's Creed for the PC because I'm considering getting it. Thanks in advance.
