Every time I load my gmail inbox, my internet loses connection and has to reconnect. Once it reconnects its fine, but its annoying since it takes a minute to reconnect, and I check my email multiple times per day. Any ideas what could be causing this?

Is is only gmail that is causing your internet to go down? It would seem weird because that is a very stable site and servers.

Yeah, that's pretty much all that does it. I've been having a bit of trouble with any sort of flash occasionally freezing my browser, combined with this problem with gmail, makes me think that there's something wrong with the way my router or computer is receiving lots of information at once.

I am guessing that it is FF, but what version are you working with? Also you might want to make sure that all your flash and adobe and the like are up-to-date.

The latest version of firefox: 3.0.4

I've also uninstalled and reinstalled firefox and Adobe Flash Player. Neither has solved the problem.

Hi,

Are you running any themes, addons, or extentions other than the defualt ones? You might want to try running FF in safe mode, this will turn everything off and only run from defualts, this will let you see if it is your connection and not the browser. If you find that you can get to gmail fine, then I would recommend that you go back to the normal version of FF and disable everything.

Then you will need to start adding one thing at a time, and see if you are having problems with any of them. I know that this is a long process but it is the only way to do it.
