GMail judder / Firefox CPU

iGoogle is my homepage and I use the GMail gadget. When I access the Inbox the whole screen judders. When this happens the CPU from firefox.exe hovers between 30%and 60%.
Any ideas what's going on?

I should mention that I have two separate Google accounts and when I sign in to the other one all is fine.
