I just bought a new 8800 GT OC by BFG to replace my 7600 to go on my Asus crosshair. I took out the 7600 and put in the 8800 GT, and didn't connect the 4 pin Molex correctly. The computer buzzer screamed at me so I turned everything off and connected the Molex properly.

I booted the machine up with all my connections and the mother board beeped at me 1 long time then 3 short times. A blank screen ensued. The same thing happened when i connected my older card.

Hi, welcome to TSF.

Clear CMOS:
First ground yourself by touching a radiator or the computer case.
Then unplug the computer from the wall outlet and open the case.
Remove the little "coin-like" battery on the motherboard.
Move the "clear CMOS" jumper on the motherboard from pins 1&2 to pins 2&3.
Wait 10 minutes.
Replace the jumper to pins 1&2.
Put the battery back.
Close the case and start the computer.
Enter BIOS and choose "Load setup defaults" (or something similar) - save and exit BIOS.

What are the computer specifications? You will need a quality 500W PSU to run the card.
