I have acquired the above graphics card off ebay, silly me was blissfully unaware that I would need a DVI to VGA adapter, is there such a way I can hook it up and bypass the VGA for the time being, so my monitor doesn't black out when the hardware is mounted?

If your monitor does not have DVI connection then you will need to install an adapter.

I'm not sure what you are saying. You can connect to a monitor using DVI or VGA (or with adapters on either output).
