The most overclocked 5700 ultra will be crushed like a bug by a plain old 9800 Pro. A 5700 is a 4 pixel pipe card with 128 bit RAM and the 9800 Pro is an 8 pixel pipe card with 256 bit RAM. This is a very one-sided comparison.

The 5700, 5200 I think it was, were not and are not the crown jewels of
the nvidia line. Thats coming from a avid nvidia fan. Be better off with a
ti4200, or a ti4600, those cards are work horses even today. Imho.

the Geforce 5 series compare terrible to anything, they just have abilitys that other cards dont, the 4Ti series was aton better, but didnt have that extra capability bf2 needs. if you want a good card get the 9800 or look into a geforce 6...
when you compare the price.... the 9800 XT costs about 2x of the price of the 5700 if not more then that.

The 5700ultra was a little better than the plain jane 5700. Ive seen real
good performance with the 5900ultra, and I think it was the 5950ultra.
I running a gainward 5900xt ultra, runs great for me, slightly overclocked,
Doom3, halo, splinter cell,,smooth as silk., and the new area51 flawless.
But Im eyeballing the 6800ultra. Its about ugrade time for me,,lol

The radeon 9800PRO/XT was the king of video cards for there generations. A 9800 pro only cost about $120 these days. If you want a nvidia that matches or exceeds the 9800 then the cheapest you can go is about $150 for a geforce 6600GT.
