Just found this board and thought as Ive done verything else it was worth giving it a bash.

My problems started when on Friday I got a new Geforce 4 Ti4200 128Mb graphics card from Novatech, made by Leadtek.
Once intstalled I was getting a sort of interferance apperance on the screen.
My old card was GeForce 2 MX 400 64Mb and I had no problems there. I put the old card back in and it showed no problems.
I took the new GF4 card to an independant PC engineer to check on his PC and it was fine. The interferance effect appears even before Windows starts, on the start up black screen, which discounts any WinXP or driver issues.

I've run out of ideas? please can anyone help!!

Have you fully uninstalled all the old drivers from the Geforce 2?

Thanks for you reply, I have unistalled the old drivers, or at least as far as I can..Control Panel>Add & Remove programs.

Maybe a full re-install of Windows XP?

try to boot in the safe mode and see how it behaves....try changing your VGA to maybe standard VGA, check the frequency and so on...Im not familiar with that card but does it have heatsink/fan on it and does it work ? or maybe RAM on it is bad ?

This is my latest test tonight (Monday)

A mate bought his 17" TFT Sony Flat Panel round and the problem was still there, I pluged in my old 13" monitor and it was fine, the picture was perfect. The only difference was the VGA cables, both my 15" Flat Pane and the Sony 17" flat panel had 15 pin VGA Cables, the older monitor had 13 pins, see below -
the pins that I could make out that were missing on the old monitor (that worked fine) was pins 2 & 7, Green and Green Return.
The picture on the old monitor had no colour loss. 100%. This info on the cables was taken from here -
