Hi everyone,

i would be very grateful indeed if someone could answer my problem. I have a GeForce2 MX400 running on a Pentium 2 333Mhz, 320Mb system ram and windows 98.

if i play a direct 3d game or a open gl game, or run anything like a video or dvd in fullscreen, when i go back to the windows start menu, the image on the side of the menu with windows 98 on it, is all distorted and big lines across it. the same also happenes to my office 2000 shortcut bar at the top of my desktop. i can easily right click this and select "refresh icons" and the icons return to normal. Also sometimes the actual start button itself distorts. and the only way to fix this is if i restart my pc.

i have downloaded the latest drivcers from nvidias website and the same still happenes, als i have tried deacreasing and increasing the colours to 16 bit high and 16 true etc etc.

can someone please help me, its driving me nuts sometimes.

Welcome,

Did you install these games after you installed the video card or before you installed the video card?? If you installed the video card after you installed the games then the game is still trying to use the old video card settings. Try uninstalling the game and reinstalling it. It might help.

hey guys, thanx for the replies.

i have formatted my whole computer, and installed the video card, then installed the games, nd it still happens. but i have also noticed, that i dont have to even run a game for it to happen sometimes, just view say a powerpoint presentation in fullscreen, and it distorts the start menu and the office toolbar, i have upgraded the drivers and still the smae happens, i am now back with the old drivers (detonator xp 27.50). i havent a frickin clue wot the hell is going on, but it sure is annoying.

Get a better card, MX's are slow anyways. My brother has a Geforce 2 MX200, he got better speeds from his old voodoo3 PCI
card,
