It would help if you noted which of the THOUSANDS of Gateways you have, and also if you could link the Gateway site you were searching to save me or someone else doing the legwork.

:)

note: if the TA1 comes in only 1 variety, then say so - again, little time, many posters

to my knowledge there is only one variety of TA1. i have about 20 of these that i got at auction. i had no issues whatsoever with the TA6 tablets i got from the same auction, first result in the google search worked just fine. i've combed google, tried the intel website, ect.... no bones.

i'm using a floppy, it's always easier that way for me. i have a bunch of external floppy drives. i'll try the driver you recommend, but i think i tried all the intel drivers for this problem.

thanks though!

i found another model number (m280) for the TA1, but it just points me to the same sata/ahci xp install drivers which do not work... grrrr

i found another possible model number (m280) for the TA1, but it just points me to the same sata/ahci xp install drivers which do not work... grrrr

i've contacted their tech support chat, and they refuse to even offer help or additional model or part numbers. The model of the motherboard is 31TA1MB0041

i will try that file when i get home. they all have serial numbers, but no "service tag" a-la dell (wish these were dells, i'd have no hassles).

thanks!
